CNC vertical lathe is a commonly used processing method in modern process manufacturing. In the process of CNC vertical lathe processing, the role of lubrication is very important. Good lubrication can not only extend the service life of machine tools, but also reduce processing costs and improve processing quality. Therefore, how to lubricate is one of the skills that every CNC vertical lathe operator needs to master.

Type of lubrication

There are two commonly used lubrication methods in CNC vertical lathes, one is dry lubrication and the other is wet lubrication.

Dry lubrication: As the name suggests, it is a method of processing without using any lubricant. Dry lubrication is usually suitable for relatively simple processing in some applications, such as small machine tool processing, high-speed vertical lathe processing, etc. This method saves the construction of a lubrication system and reduces costs, but at the same time, it easily causes equipment damage and reduced work efficiency.

Wet lubrication: Wet lubrication uses lubricating oil for lubrication. Lubricating oil has extremely strong lubrication properties and has a good cooling effect, which can lower the operating temperature and reduce wear. This method requires the use of a special lubrication system, and the required lubricating oil is sent to the processing area through the oil refueling control system. Wet lubrication has good lubrication effect and high processing efficiency, but at the same time, the cost is high.

Lubrication method

Lubrication in CNC vertical lathes is divided into two methods: internal lubrication and external lubrication.

Internal lubrication: Internal lubrication achieves the purpose of lubrication by injecting lubricating oil into the pipeline system inside the machine tool and transferring the lubricating oil to the processing area. This method is suitable for components with different vibration frequencies, which can reduce wear and improve cutting quality.

External lubrication: External lubrication is to spray lubricating oil into the processing area in a certain way through equipment such as oil injectors to achieve the purpose of lubrication. Usually, this method is suitable for fixed processing areas, and usually requires a high-pressure oil pump to spray lubricating oil. External lubrication consumes more lubricating oil than internal lubrication, but at the same time, it can also better reduce the processing temperature and ensure processing quality.

In industrial manufacturing, an excellent lubrication system can improve equipment life and efficiency, reduce wear and tear on key parts, and at the same time achieve the best balance between quality and production efficiency. Therefore, in the process of CNC vertical lathe processing, choosing appropriate lubrication methods and methods to adapt to various working conditions will help improve production efficiency, improve quality, and ensure stable operation of the equipment.
