When processing on a CNC vertical lathe, sometimes taper processing is required. At this time, corresponding operations need to be performed to achieve the desired effect.
Prerequisites for turning taper:
Before performing taper processing, we must ensure that the lathe is set up correctly. Specifically, it is necessary to ensure that the turning tool is in the correct position, the lathe bed is level, the rotating axis is operating normally, etc. These are the prerequisites for turning taper.
The operation process of turning taper:
1. Determine root diameter
Before performing taper processing, it is necessary to determine the diameter of the taper end point, which is the root of the taper. Typically, the diameter of this root will be smaller than the diameter of the entire workpiece.
2. Determine the position of the taper apex
After determining the taper root diameter, it is necessary to determine the taper apex position. Normally, the position of this apex will be symmetrical with the center of the workpiece.
3. Change the turning tool angle
After determining the taper apex and root diameters, the angle of the turning tool needs to be changed accordingly. According to the predetermined angle, the turning tool will be adjusted to the correct position.
4. Carry out turning processing
After installing and adjusting the position of the turning tool, you can start processing. Appropriate turning tool feed and rotation speed should be maintained during processing to avoid turning tool wear.
