During the test run of the vertical lathe, you may encounter a variety of faults. The following are some common faults and their possible causes:
1. Heating:
Cause: Some parts of the vertical lathe (such as the spindle, bearings, motors, etc.) may overheat due to friction, poor lubrication or excessive load.
Treatment: Check the lubrication system of the vertical lathe to ensure the supply and cleanliness of the lubricating oil; check and adjust the load to avoid overload operation; check and replace worn parts.
2. Vibration:
Cause: The vertical lathe is not firmly fixed, the spindle or bearings are worn, and the feed system is loose or damaged.
Treatment: Check the fixation of the vertical lathe to ensure the stability of the machine tool; check the wear of the spindle and bearings of the vertical lathe, and replace them if necessary; check the feed system, tighten loose parts, and replace damaged parts.
3. Abnormal sound:
Cause: It may be caused by loose, damaged or poor lubrication of the internal parts of the vertical lathe.
Treatment method: Use tools such as inspection rods to check the source of abnormal noise, tighten loose parts, replace damaged parts, and ensure the normal operation of the lubrication system.
4. Creeping and impact movement:
Cause: The vertical lathe may be caused by improper guide rail clearance, poor lubrication, poor control accuracy of the feed system, etc.
Treatment method: Adjust the guide rail clearance of the vertical lathe to ensure the supply and cleanliness of the lubricating oil; check and adjust the control parameters of the feed system to improve the control accuracy.
5. Abnormal pressure changes:
Cause: It may be caused by leakage, blockage or control component failure of the hydraulic system or pneumatic system of the vertical lathe.
Treatment method: Check and repair the leakage point of the vertical lathe, clean and dredge the blocked pipes, and replace the damaged control components.
6. The oil produces a lot of foam:
Cause: The vertical lathe may be caused by too much oil in the oil tank, oil contamination or mixing with air.
Treatment method: The vertical lathe adjusts the amount of oil in the oil tank to an appropriate level, replaces the seriously contaminated oil, and checks and repairs the cause of air mixing.
7. Sudden leakage:
Cause: It may be caused by broken pipes, damaged seals or loose connectors. Handling method: Replace broken pipes, replace damaged seals, and tighten loose connectors. The workpiece produces taper size head phenomenon:
Cause: It may be caused by uneven placement of the vertical lathe, wear of the tool or poor concentricity of the spindle and tailstock.
8.Handling method: Use a level to adjust the level of the vertical lathe, replace worn tools, and adjust the concentricity of the spindle and tailstock.
When the vertical lathe encounters a fault during the trial run, it should first be stopped for inspection, find out the cause of the fault and take corresponding treatment measures. If it cannot be solved by yourself, you should contact professional maintenance personnel in time for processing.
